Vermont’s Sales Tax Holiday is a great time to shop.  Come in this Saturday and enjoy 19% off in addition to the 6% savings by not paying tax.  That’s a total savings of 25% on any order totaling $100 or more.   Any already discounted items won’t be further discounted on Saturday, but they will count toward your $100 minimum purchase to get the additional 19% off.

All items at Rocky Dale are usually taxed at 6%, so on Saturday, we just don’t collect tax- it’s that simple.  Can you pick out merchandise ahead of time?  Sure- as long as we receive payment in full this Saturday.  You can pick up the merchandise anytime after it’s been paid for.

Read more about the Sales Tax Holiday here.

We also have a $5 buck hosta sale going on through the end of August- great selection and large pots.

And we still have some trees discounted 50% available too, but they’ve been moving out at a steady clip.  See the list here.

Now that the rain deluge is past and the short heatwave is past- (what?-we had summer for 4 days?) – it’s time to get back in the garden.

A few days in the mid 70’s sounds like great gardening weather to me!  We’ve had a hard time keeping up with the weeds this year, but with any luck- it will be a late summer project to clean it all up!

the Nursery

March 19, 2009

The Nursery is closed right now- but we’ll be opening on April 15th, weather permitting. Some years, the piles of snow will last into May and we have to get equipment to move them out of the way!

This area is called “The Conifer Mound”. It’s where we display the conifers for sale. Daphne cneorum blooms below an old crabapple- the fragrance is astounding!

By the beginning of May we usually have a lot of stock in the yard.

We sell annuals too!

rdg cover trial 32082.jpgWe publish a catalog of our plant offerings every year, though this year we’ll be printing a supplement to our 2008 catalog, rather than an entirely new one. Our supplement is still in the works, but you can peruse our 2008 catalog in the meantime.

Hours for the nursery are 9am-6pm every day once we’re into May. Hours are a little more fluid in April due to weather.

This way you’ll be kept apprised of new entries in our blog, and also receive special offers and notices of events. We will be phasing out direct mail communication, so this is the new best way to stay in touch!

If you’re planning a tour of the area, there are many great places to stay and eat. Among them are Almost Home Market– a terrific deli and bakery and the Inn at Baldwin Creek– incredible meals and a beautiful country inn, just down the road.
